April - You are too kind! Thank you so much! God bless you!
Catherine - I do find nest in my yard from time to time. I try to make my yard as bird friendly as possible. Many of the nest in my yard are from birdhouses that I set up for them; like bluebirds and purple martins.
Harriet & Beth - Thank you
Darla - good guesses but not quite...
Colleen - you are CORRECT!! Great job! I'll be posting more about killdeer in my next post.

I'm no expert at eggs but I'll guess a Mockingbird?
I too was thinking Mockingbird, Woodpecker came to mind as well....?
Oh wow. Cool
Happy Earth Day, Alan! You are the featured post on CHRISTIAN NATURE today. Your artwork is honorably featured for all to enjoy. God bless!
The eggs do have a similar resemblance to a mockingbird but that’s not what they are.
Hint - It’s a ground nesting bird…
Dove? Osprey?
They sure are pretty whatever they are. Do you find nests and eggs frequently in your yard?
Don't know about the bird -- but great shot.
my guess is Killdeer
